Shane Henry bags a win

Shane Henry won the Sydney series #1 orange course this weekend. The insider was fooled by Shane last year, when he displayed form in the Autumn evenings but then didn't come to SSS with his A-game. Maybe he has his priorities in order this year?

Also competing was Peter Annetts an the red 1 course. His performance was solid but nothing surprising.

Michael Free had a shocker, what was he doing? I guess we'll never know. Perhaps he should stick to events where the compass can be safely left at home.

Dave Bray is back, A win for Michael

Dave Bray is back! O.K. O.K. I know he has been back for a while but
the 550 at winter solstice score event suggests he is baaaack. Know what
I mean? Michael Free was equal winner, but he did the course early in the daylight. Although there is a chance he might start next summer series without the extra few kilos he seems to bring to the start of the series each year.

Malcolm Bradley, Shane Henry, James Stuart and Ian Jessop all put in an appearence. Although there didn't seem to be any huge variations from
expected form.

So next season could more exciting than last season with a possible four way struggle for 2nd place in the main SSS division. (Assuming Glenn stays in the country).

We wont know Tim's form until the series starts, but Peter has been putting in solid results, Dave's coming and Michael is running faster than last year.

No Glen or Tim, Peter dominates...

A long time between seasons...

Watching the form at Hunters Hill last week, last seasons big disappointment, Peter Annetts dominated the other Masters Men in the traditional orienteering format. Glenn was nowhere to be seen, and Tim is really a SSS only guy.

You might expect Michael Free to be able to beat Peter as he has in the last two SSS, but once the navigation gets serious we all know Michael goes missing, well gets lost really.

There was an even some cocky banter from the Garingal stalwart (Peter) at the start line - Suggesting to Michael that he would see him out there, inferring that with a later start time he would have no trouble catching and passing. Well not that cocky in hindsight, He managed to nip past Michael undetected while Michael was performing a close inspection on the local flora.

Shane henry made an appearance and came in just behind Michael, with Jamie Kennedy not far behind that.
